Energy, Commissioning and More Credits From Your Documents

Upload your energy model report, commissioning documents and other project reports, and VERTIQ reads them into more LEED credits. Confirm reviews on screen, see when a result is out of date, and get embodied carbon for wood products.

Energy credits from your energy model report

  • Energy model report. Upload your ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G report and VERTIQ reads it into Minimum and Optimize Energy Performance (LEED v4 and v4.1) and Minimum and Enhanced Energy Efficiency (LEED v5), for BD+C and ID+C. Extracted values cite their source document and a page when one can be identified.
  • Mandatory provisions forms. COMcheck reports, ASHRAE compliance forms and the DOE/PNNL Performance-based Compliance Form are read requirement by requirement. Complete reports and supporting documents can supply the calculation inputs. Required reviews still need confirmation.
  • Fill from energy model report. Next to "Fill from simulation run" in the energy credit inputs. Inputs filled from a report can be approved for submission, and the approval goes out of date when the report changes.
  • Disagreements are shown. If your VERTIQ energy run and the report disagree, the credit shows both values. Inputs you saved yourself still come first.

More credits read from documents

  • Commissioning. OPR, BOD, commissioning plan and report, functional tests, issues log and contract are read into the commissioning prerequisite and Enhanced Commissioning (BD+C and ID+C, v4, v4.1 and v5).
  • LEED v5 Occupant Experience, Accessibility and Inclusion, Resilient Spaces. Daylight, acoustic, thermal comfort, accessibility and resilience reports.
  • LEED v5 Electrification. Heating, water heating, cooking and other equipment from your mechanical schedules.
  • LEED v5 Building Product Selection. Cradle to Cradle, Declare, FSC, PEFC, SFI, BIFMA and other certificates from product data sheets, in one product list with your saved rows and EPDs.
  • Transportation Demand Management (BD+C v5 LTc4, ID+C v5 LTc2). Transportation studies, commute surveys and the completed USGBC TDM calculator workbook (.xlsx or .xlsm).
  • When a fact is missing, the credit names the document to upload.

Reviews and out-of-date results

  • Confirm reviews on screen. A project editor, admin or owner can confirm the reviews a document-based result waits for. VERTIQ records who confirmed, their project role and when. A confirmation can be withdrawn and stops counting when its documents change.
  • Where LEED requires a qualified party, such as the commissioning authority's independence and experience, that has to come from your documents. A screen confirmation does not replace it.
  • Outdated. A credit whose inputs changed after its last result is marked Outdated, with the reason. The score stays visible until you run the analysis again.

Embodied carbon

  • Wood products. Whole-building LCA now covers glulam, LVL, I-joists, plywood, OSB and lumber with CORRIM regional data from the Federal LCA Commons, used with CORRIM's permission. The region comes from the species or region in your material schedule.
  • Datasets whose licence does not allow commercial use are left out, and a material that depends on one says so.

Regional guidance and pilot credits

  • Support for the USGBC North Asia Regional Guidance for LEED v5, a Latin America regional alternative compliance path for engineered natural ventilation, and selected pilot credits.
  • LEED v4.1 C&D Waste shows an exemplary performance candidate when every facility recycling rate is third-party verified.

Building model and drawings

  • No eight-sheet limit. The eight-sheet limit on floor plans has been removed. Excluded sheets are listed with their reasons.
  • Your published model is used. LEED analysis energy results use the building model you published. Drawings only fill values your model leaves empty, and a drawing that disagrees becomes a review item.
  • Drawing Scale. Pick two points and type the real length, or choose the scale printed on the sheet (architectural, engineering or metric). The card shows how much lengths and areas will change before you apply it.
  • New drawings added after you publish are flagged for review.

Fixed

  • Window and door detection is more accurate on large and detailed floor plans, and no longer fails when the AI model takes longer than a minute.
  • Large drawings get up to 25 minutes instead of stopping at 5, and a drawing that still does not finish says why.
  • A floor plan whose window detection answer was incomplete now shows a review item instead of quietly losing windows.
  • Masonry cement was counted as zero embodied carbon in whole-building LCA. It now carries its full value.
  • Uploading a document marks only the credits that read it as Outdated.
  • Documents still uploading no longer disappear from the document list.
  • LEED v5 O+M Operational Planning for Resilience checks the emergency plan against the priority hazards from your Climate Resilience Assessment.
  • LEED v5 BD+C SSp1 uses its official name, "Minimize Site Disturbance".
